Ayon sa Philippine World Journal, nanawagan ang DOH para sa pagbabawal sa single-use e-cigarettes, na binibigyang-diin na ang mga e-cigarette ay malamang na hindi magkaroon ng magandang epekto sa kalusugan.
Sinabi ni Deputy Health Minister Domingo na hindi maaaring palitan ng e-cigarettes ang nicotine therapy, na maaaring magdulot ng sakit sa baga tulad ng regular na sigarilyo.
“Kung may batas, ipagbabawal ng Department of Health ang mga e-cigarette,” sabi ni Domingo. Ang Kongreso ay mayroon nang panukalang batas na isinasaalang-alang.
“Ang mga e-cigarette ay hindi mabuti para sa kalusugan at hindi ligtas,” sabi niya.
Sinabi ni Domingo na mahigit 1 milyong Pilipino, o humigit-kumulang 1% ng populasyon, ang kasalukuyang gumagamit ng disposable e-cigarettes.
Ang mga disposable electronic cigarette ay mga device na nagpapasingaw sa solusyon upang maging usok para magamit ng mga naninigarilyo. Hindi tulad ng ordinaryong sigarilyo, hindi ito gumagamit ng dahon ng tabako.
